About@oddepic
Odd Epic (@oddepic) is a YouTube channel of animated documentaries about the strange, small beginnings behind big stories.
Every film follows one odd moment (a back room, a bluff, a bug) all the way to the epic it became. We cover companies and the rivalries that shaped them, inventions, history's odd turns, the people behind them, and sport. Every epic starts odd.
Two sides, one market, and a feud that shaped them both.
The garages, car trunks, broken games and lucky breaks behind famous names.
Inventions
Everyday things, and the odd accident or obsession that made them.
History's Odd Turns
Small, strange moments that tipped big events.
The People Behind Them
Founders, misfits and the ones the story nearly forgot.
Sport
Clubs, records and grudges, on and off the pitch.
Archives, court records, patents, parliament and the founders’ own words. Every film lists what it stands on, so you can check it.
Origin stories collect myths. When a famous part of a story is only a legend or one person’s account, the film says so on screen.
Characters speak in scenes we stage from the record. Their lines are written to fit what is documented; they are not recordings of the real people.
No company we cover pays for or approves a film. Names and logos appear for identification only. Sponsored segments, if any, are always labelled.

It is the idea behind every film: the biggest stories usually begin somewhere small and strange, like a shoe business started in a laundry room or a famous sole made in a waffle iron. We find that odd moment and follow it all the way to the epic.
Yes. Every film is researched and lists its sources in the YouTube description. When a famous part of a story is only a legend or one person's account, the film says so on screen. Dialogue is dramatised.
Most films run 10 to 15 minutes, split into chapters you can jump between on YouTube.
Flat-vector 2D animation. Each scene is built in layers (sky, set, props, weather and light) and a camera moves through them, the way the multiplane cameras of classic animation did.
